POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, analyzing, upgrading and the support of all Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and applications including servers, network, data, phone systems, end-user systems and related software applications. Gives insight and takes guidance from IT Director to formulate well thought out project plans considering resources, impact to business operations and change management This position reports to the IT Director and is responsible for network, computer and storage utilization reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain company network, server and communications infrastructure including but not limited to storage VMware vCenter and vSphere, Layer 3 routing and managed VoIP services
• Ensure company systems are aligned to IT standards, IT Roadmap, company policies and external compliance standards
• Install, configure and continuously monitor Microsoft Windows operating systems on VMware vSphere and vCenter technologies
• Perform backup administration, replication, reporting and regular testing conforming to company standard RPO / RTOs.
• Monitor all systems and data with industry standard tools and monitoring software
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, IT procedures and policies
• Provide design assistance and innovative concepts to IT Director when problems are detected or when planning required
• Requires a project management focus with the ability to create and follow a plan to execute larger, multi-stage projects
• Able to manage priorities between large visibility projects and other competing tasks
• Responsible for security reporting and network utilization reports
• Rack & stack, setup, configure, document, test and provision new equipment on-site, in co-locations and in our satellite offices.
• Troubleshoot and solve daily network operations and issues. Provide tier 2 support to the company in a timely, helpful and friendly manner.
• Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 to 6 years IT network operations experience in a 100+ user LAN/WAN and Microsoft Windows / VMware environment
• Experience managing a Cisco environment, including routers, switches and ASA’s.
• Understanding of firewalls, policies, monitoring intrusion detection, hardware & software VPNs, VLANs and subnetting
• Experience with VMware vSphere, including vCenter and VMware technologies
• Microsoft Windows Server and Windows client; experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting
• Microsoft Exchange Administration
• Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS
• Enterprise Storage experience (SAN, NAS)
• Experience with backups, replication and archiving. Establish and implement RPO / RTO objectives and continually test and monitor data resiliency
• Able to manage several projects concurrently and manage stressful situations
• Seamlessly create process documentation that can be followed by others and ensure repeatable results
• Proven leadership experience and ability to communicate effectively with IT and business users
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively
